We've added some directions on travelling by air, train, bus, etc. to Cork and the conference venue.

We've also given a list of places to stay and dine in Cork city. For more information on hotels and B&Bs, check out our accommodation page. For some tips on where to go for meals, try out the eat and drink section.

Venue confirmed for BlogTalk 2008

We have confirmed the Kingsley Hotel in Cork as the venue for BlogTalk 2008. The Kingsley is located 2.9 km from the city centre.

Getting to the Kingsley from Cork takes about 5 to 10 minutes by car and 30 minutes on foot. Further directions from other Irish locations are available here.

We will soon publish more information on the venue, including details of other nearby accommodations and some tips on getting to Cork in the first place.

Panel on mashups, microformats and syndication announced

We've just announced our first BlogTalk 2008 panel discussion. The topic is "Mashups, microformats and syndication", and will be chaired by Sean McGrath.

Social Network Portability workshop to be co-located with BlogTalk 2008

We are also happy to announce a co-located "Social Network Portability" workshop on the 2nd March 2008. You can view more information at the wiki page for this event.

"Social network portability" is a term that has been used to describe the ability to reuse one's own profile and contacts across various social networking sites and social media applications. At this workshop, we will combine presentations with breakout sessions to discuss all aspects of portability for social networking sites (including accounts, friends, activities / content, and applications).
